Pregnancy Portrait Stories

Knowing that many women that are interested in pregnancy portraits have lots of questions and conceerns that they might not be comfortable calling up a studio and asking someone that they don't know, I have asked some of our clients to share their pregnancy sessions to share some of their portrait experiences here. In their own words, they will share with you their concerns and fears and what the actual experience was really like, along with some of the portraits from their sessions. Hopefully we will get some input from some fathers as well.

I am opening this page with only one story, although I will add several more as they are ready.

Our first story is from Jessica. Jessica was excited about her session, bu had many of the concerns that a lot of women share. She was also very instrumental in helping me create my current style of pregnancy portrait photography. Her session was a nice blend of poses that she suggested combined with ones already in my repertoire. I always encourage my clients to take an active role in creating their sessions. Many photographers are reluctant to do this, I suppose fearing it will take away from their own creativity or control. I feel the opposite, I find that creating something from someone else's imagination is as much or more stimulating to my own creative process than is creating somethiong from my own imagination. The very best sessions, like Jessica's, combine the two processes to create a whole that is much more than the sum of its parts.
