Kari's Pregnancy Portrait Story
" I contacted Robin Hickman Photography during my 36th week of pregnancy. I had received a flier from him in May of 2007 about the baby plan. We were not pregnant at the time, but it was something that I but in the back of my mind for future reference. So as my pregnancy was nearing the end I decided I better give them a call to make sure we took advantage of the limited number of spots available for the baby plan. They set up a consult for me, and it was then that Robin proposed the idea of doing a pregnancy shoot. I never considered having pregnancy pictures done, nor was I one who took a belly picture every month. In fact I avoided the camera as much as possible. The few pictures that people managed to sneak in on me, I definitely did not consider beautiful!
Robin showed me his portfolio, and thankfully he somehow convinced the very reluctant me, to do it. Luckily Robin was able to schedule me for the next week, any longer and all the "what are you thinking" thoughts going through my mind might have made me call and cancel!
The day of my shoot I was still very nervous and second guessing my decision. However Robin and Jenni were both great and can truly make you feel beautiful when you are actually feeling like a bloated elephant!! You are given lots of privacy to get situated between shots, and Jenni did a great job arranging the sheets, flowers and other props. Robin is very respectful and only comes in when you feel totally comfortable
and ready to shot, in fact after the first pose was complete most of my anxiety was gone.
My viewing with Tanya was a couple of days later, and I was amazed and so thankful that I had let Robin talk me into going through with the shoot. Robin did an amazing job of capturing me in my very pregnant state. Everyone that has seen the photos loves them, and I would not hesitate to have another pregnancy session with Robin.
